In this video, I perform an experiment to see how fast my Ethereum Mining Rig can crack/recover passwords. The results are astounding!
My Mining rig has 5 graphic cards – RTX 3060, RTX 2060, 3xGTX 1660 Super. I usually mine ethereum on my mining rig and the hash rate it gives is around 179 MH/s.
Mining crypto and cracking passwords are very similar, which is why I decided to conduct this experiment and put my rig to the test.
In the video, I perform two cracking attacks
– Dictionary Attack
– BruteForce Attack
Both these attacks are performed on sample password hashes (generated from different hashing algorithms i.e., MD5 and SHA256) using a fast password recovery tool named hashcat.
